The department of Economics, one of the oldest departments of the college was established in the year 1980.Dr. Anilkumarhas joined the department as Assistant Professor in the year 2024. We have engaged the allied subjects for B.Com., Economics, Business Economic, International Economics, Indian Economy and Rural Economics and etc.The Managerial economics and Business economics one of the most important indicator for the decision making of the business activity and international economics, rural economics and Indian economy are major contribution to the trade activity for the Nation, such as rural activity like farmer, forest, mining and animal husbandry.

The department organises Industrial Visit for the students every year in order to enhance that reporting skills and also to make them to understand the actual functioning of the industry. Students are asked to collect the data of a particular industry to which they have visited, write a report and submit the same to the department. The department scrutinises the reports and selects the best five for prizes to be awarded.

Dr.Anilkumar. Assistant Professor (Senior Selection Grade)& HOD of Economics. He has 10years of teachingexperience and presented papers in International, National level and State level conferences and delivered many special lectures in other institutions. He has served as BOE member of Kuvempu University, Shimogga He worked as IQAC Assistant coordinator from 2017 to till date, Coordinator of Ad-on Courses and served as NSS Programme Officer from 2017 to 2022021.His future research stem from his goal of developing improved analytical models and methods for design, evaluation, and upgrade of new techniques with passive systems. he found that his professional experience as a researcher provided him with a broad view that is useful in assisting students with teaching and assignments in academic filed.
